Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga offers an antidote to the hectic (Yang) lifestyle. Yin is the Balance to Yang. We need time to slow down, breathe, get still.  Yin Yoga is done almost completely on the floor. Poses are held for 3-6 minutes with the use of props to support you.  Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue and musculature to safely improve mobility and tissue resilience through slow, controlled deep stretching-type poses. Focus is on working with the breath to calm the nervous system and steady the mind so that the body can respond optimally.

ROll Out & Renew, A Self-Massage/Self-Care Workshop

Instructor: Lauri Glenn

In our fast-paced, high stress culture, with information and expectation at an all time high, we often find ourselves anxious, overwhelmed & fatigued.  For many of us, this leads to physical, emotional, and psychological pain as well.  Does this sound like you?  Than this workshop is FOR YOU!  Each day can be taken individually but it is strongly suggested to take both together.

The bulk of this class will be self-massage techniques that you can re-create easily at home with the use of various props, blocks and balls.  You will learn how to work directly with the nervous system to release tension through the body, mind, and heart through releasing our “fight of flight” reaction and allowing our “relaxation response” to step in.  There will be some discussion and activity.  You will leave relaxed, relieved, rejuvenated but most importantly, empowered to mitigate the effects of stress in your own life.  Suitable for EVERY BODY.  PLEASE BRING A YOGA MAT & BLANKET (OR LARGE TOWEL).

DAY ONE:  We will address the lower half of the body:  feet, calves, hamstrings, IT band, glutes, hips/hip flexors.

DAY TWO:  We will address the upper body:  low back, psoas, upper back, rotator cuff, shoulders, pecs (chest), neck.
