Human Resources Administrative Assistant

Job Details: This full time position is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager in all Human Resources activities for Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District. This is an exciting position that will support the entire District.

Duties include but not limited to:
-Prepares, processes and updates appropriate transactions such as letters for new hires, promotions, demotions, transfers, increments, terminations, FMLA or Workers Compensation, etc.
-Creates and enters new employee personnel information into the HRIS.
-Confirms all new hire documents are completed.
-Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
-Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
-Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
-Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, leaves, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
-Prepares and forwards correspondence as needed to employees and/or other state agencies regarding benefits, employment verifications, and other employment status requests.
-Benefits administration
-Provides clerical support to the HR department.

Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
-Associate’s degree in recreation administration, business or public administration, or a closely related field, preferred.
-Two (2) years of responsible general office or secretarial experience.
-Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Hiring Details: Accepting applications through April 9th, 2021. Tentative DOH by end of April, 2021.

Pay: $19.92 - $20.92, depending on experience, plus benefits including health, dental, vision and life insurance, and District perks (membership passes to the gym, pool, beach, and ice rink for employees and their families).
