10 years at the Community Recreation Center

10 Year Annyversary Recreation Center

Still considered by many in town as the "New" Community Recreation Center, it is one of those "time flies" moments where 10 years ago we opened our doors to a beautiful state of the art building for our town and its visitors.

In 2005, the Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District constructed the 40,000 square foot Truckee Community Recreation Center. The project was funded with grants, developer fees, donations and certificates of participation. Project costs in total were $7 million under budget after completion. The building was awarded the California Association of Recreation & Park Districts award for the Best New Facility in the State of California.

The program and activities through TDRPD are the heartbeat that fill this building up with so much life. Listed below are many of the programs and activities we offer throughout the year.

  • Gymnasium

    • Drop-in sports 5 days a week (basketball, pickle ball), Youth and Adult Leagues (basketball, futsal, volleyball), preschool play during winter, events (Ski Swap, Crab Feed), open gym.
