4th of July Fireworks Are On
This Summer 2023!

We are very excited to report that at the Truckee Town Council meeting on March 14, the special event permit for the 4th of July celebration at West End Beach was approved.

Part of that approval requires us to reimburse the Town for roughly $25,000 in expenses related to the event. We are looking forward to another fantastic day at West End Beach with families and community creating lasting memories.

With that said, there are challenges and concerns that have been raised as part of this discussion that TDRPD is ready and willing to address the best we can to show that this is a sustainable event for our community for many years to come.

We want to hear your thoughts on the following questions:

What ideas do you have to cover the additional $25,000 fees?
Any suggestions you have to reduce litter in the area?
What thoughts do you have to manage traffic and congestion?
Any ideas about how to reduce public intoxication?
What other thoughts you have about the event?

You can also speak during public comment at our TDRPD board meeting which is on Thursday, March 23 at 6:00pm. The board meeting is held at the Community Recreation Center (10981 Truckee Way).

TDRPD is thrilled to continue this community event in 2023, and hope to build on improving the experience and sustainability of the 4th of July at Donner Lake.
